David Foster Wallace And The Fractured Self
Hey,
Hope you’ve had a good week. I just dropped this Sunday’s video, and it’s about David Foster Wallace, who I’ve been living with this week through his interviews and non-fiction writing.
In many ways I see Foster Wallace’s fractured self and approach to his craft as an early experience that projects across many in the future. His was an inner life that seems plagued by the idea of image, content addiction, and how to orientate himself towards quality inputs within a high distraction environment.
Below is a selection of his interviews, but first a non-fiction piece that I really enjoy, and has always made me want to go on a cruise myself.
Shipping Out - a non-fiction story about cruise ship travel
